About

Females
Through a selective buying and breeding programme the Fold has 60 breeding females, with over two thirds of this number consisting of homebred females. Our larger families are Morag descendant’s of Morag 6th of Orsmary and Morag 7th of Orsmary, Lady descendant's of Lady 6th of Callachally, Mina descendant’s of Baravalla Mina 15th of Corriemuckloch and Dottie descendant’s of Dorothy Samhach of Glengorm. We have a number of black cow’s too but have struggled with black progeny previously due to the lack of a black bull.

The Fold’s females covers a spectrum of colours from black, brindle, red, yellow, white to dun.

Bulls
Over the year’s we have used predominately 4 bulls which have provided us with our main families today. Muilleach 6th of Millerston, Coinneach of Cim, Rushmore Bracken and now Exhibit 2nd of Auch.

Muilleach 6th of Millerston. Tall yellow bull, consistently bred well. Produced many prize winning progeny.

Coinneach of Cim. Affectionally known as George and sired by Toisiche Mor of Torloisk. George is brindle in colour, short in the leg, stocky and kind in the eye.

Rushmore Bracken. Tremendous sized bull with a magnificent head, colour and domineering in appearance. Progeny has won many prizes. His straws are available for sale.

Exhibit 2nd of Auch. Exhibit came to Cim Fold in February 2004 and is brindle in colour. His progeny has excelled, siring the Male Champion at the Spring Oban Show in 2004 (sold for 10,000 gns) and winning the Royal Highland Show Male Champion in 2005. Sired Champion Yearling and Reserve Yearling at Oban Show October 2005 (sold for 3,000 gns each). He is running with the majority of our breeding females and we had an excellent crop of calves in 2005. (picture)
